Otilia graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2023 with a Bachelor of Commerce and Advanced Science (Honours), receiving First Class Honours. Her honours research, conducted in the Crossley-Quinlan Lab, focused on investigating the delta-globin gene as a potential target for fetal globin induction in the treatment of beta-haemoglobinopathies.
In 2024, Otilia joined the Gene Therapy Research Unit as a Research Assistant under the supervision of A/Prof Samantha Ginn. Her work focuses on developing gene delivery systems that efficiently target the human liver.
Outside the lab, she enjoys playing basketball, exploring Sydney, and spending time at the beach.
