Aynaz’s research surrounds the two exciting fields of regenerative medicine and aging. After completing her PhD at Leibniz Research Labs for Artificial Organs at Hannover Medical School in Germany, she has joined the Telomere Length Regulation Unit at Children’s Medical Research Institute to continue her research as a post-doc.

Through application of cutting-edge technologies at CMRI at the forefront of telomere biology and stem cell therapies, her research is dedicated to investigating the contributing factors in premature-senescence in human induced pluripotent stem cell derivatives for application in advanced disease modelling, cell therapy and drug screening.

In addition, Aynaz is exploring a novel hTERT stabilizing model that enables safe and subtle boost in telomerase activity in normal human somatic cells without transformation.

The overall aim of her research is development of treatments that counteract cellular aging and translation of regenerative strategies that can inform therapies harnessing disease and aging.
