Scott received his B. Biomedical Science (Hons. First Class) in 2017 from the University of Newcastle (NSW, Australia). His Honours project was under the supervision A/Prof Murry Cairns where he investigated SNPs identified in Schizophrenia associated loci and helped set up CRISPR/Cas9 tools for the lab. Scott started his role as Research Assistant in the Genome Integrity Group in 2018 where he has since taken on lab management duties. Outside of ensure the lab runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis, Scott assists the progress of his colleagues projects through a wide range of his experimental expertise.
