Dr Peter Hains has been working in the area of mass spectrometry and proteomics for over 25 years, and has extensive laboratory experience with labelled and label-free quantitative mass spectrometry. He has processed samples from a wide range of plant, animal, and human tissue types and worked extensively with post-translationally modified peptides, in particular phosphopeptides. He has a very strong analytical background and expertise in the analysis of complex datasets using a range of bioinformatic tools. He has co-supervised numerous Honours, Masters and PhD students and is currently managing a cross-disciplinary team of 12 people in ProCan. This involves co-ordinating many disparate projects across a range of complex pipelines. Peter has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) (Hons), Biological and Biomedical Sciences and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Biological and Biomedical Science from UTS.
