Dr Colgin earned her PhD in Pathology from the University of Washington in Seattle. For 15 years, she conducted high impact research into aging, cancer, and telomeres. She switched careers in early 2012, first working in science communication and grant writing, before obtaining a Masters in Marketing from Monash University. Since late 2012, she has led the strategic brand strategy for Children's Medical Research Institute-Jeans for Genes, as well as assembling a high performing team that manages all communications and marketing for the Institute, including media relations, websites, social media, and advertising.
