Lakshmy graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medical Science in 2022 and a Bachelor of Advanced Studies with First-class Honours in 2023. She undertook her Honours thesis at the Westmead Institute for Medical Research, investigating the role of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) in vascular calcification. She later joined the Gene Therapy Research Unit at Children’s Medical Research Institute as a Research Assistant, where she contributes to the development of novel gene therapy approaches for paediatric diseases. Outside of the lab, Lakshmy enjoys reading, running, and baking.
