Dr Eden Robertson is a Behavioural Scientist and Senior Research Officer with the Stem Cell Medicine Group at the Children’s Medical Research Institute. She also holds a Senior Lecturer position with the School of Clinical Medicine, UNSW Sydney.
Dr Robertson has completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), Graduate Certificate in Adolescent Adult Health and Wellbeing, and went on to complete a PhD (Paediatrics) in 2019 from UNSW Sydney. Her PhD focussed on developing a decision-making support resource for families deciding whether to undergo an early phase clinical trial for childhood cancer. For this work, she was awarded the UNSW Dean’s Award for Outstanding Theses. In 2020, Dr Robertson was awarded a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship to undertake an international fellowship with the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Since completing her PhD, Eden’s research has focussed on understanding and addressing the unmet psychosocial needs of children, young people and families impacted by a serious health condition. In April-2024, Eden joined the CMRI Stem Cell Medicine Group to explore the retinal diseases communities’ perspectives and attitudes toward emerging therapies, and drive patient engagement initiatives. Her work aims to ensure that the voices of those affected by retinal disease are meaningfully integrated into the translational research process.
