Camile graduated with a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Macquarie University (MQU) (North Ryde) in 2019. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences with a specialization in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) (Manila) in 2015 with an undergraduate thesis involving screening for quorum quenching molecules, an alternative to antibiotics, and characterizing naturally occurring lipid based nanoparticles from novel magnetotactic bacteria. After her master’s degree, she previously worked towards repurposing self-assembling protein-based biomaterials into functional nanostructures and therapeutics as a Research Assistant at a Synthetic Biology laboratory at University of New South Wales (UNSW) (Kensington) gaining valuable technical skills in protein engineering.

Camile joined the Stem Cell Medicine Group in 2020, bringing her cellular and molecular biology skills to the team. She is interested in utilising bioengineering strategies to improve and facilitate stem cell research. When she is not in the laboratory, she can be found outdoors camping, climbing, or hiking.
