Lowes supporting Jeans for Genes

Children's Medical Research Institute is extremely grateful for the long-term support of Lowes who have, once again, sold denim caps in their stores nationwide to support our research.

For the entire month of August, Lowes will be selling Jeans for Genes denim caps with proceeds going to help the 1 in 20 children living with genetic disease and birth defects. The money raised during Jeans for Genes goes directly into the labs at Children’s Medical Research Institute to work on diseases from cancer to cystic fibrosis, epilepsy, and devastating metabolic conditions.

Lowes is a national icon, established in 1898, and still a proud family business that is 100 per cent Australian owned.

Lowes Managing Director Linda Penn said Jeans for Genes was an excellent way for everyday Australians to contribute to vital research.

“By simply purchasing one of the high-quality denim caps that we will be selling at Lowes stores nationally, all Australians can change the lives of future generations,’’ Mrs Penn said.

Jeans for Genes Campaign Manager Greg Noel-Butterworth said that everyone at Children’s Medical Research Institute was so grateful to Lowes for supporting their scientists.

“When our scientists hear about the amount of support being shown by businesses like Lowes and the Australian public, it really inspires them to keep pushing their research further forward.’’
