Zhaoxiang (Simon) Cai is a Senior Data Scientist in ProCan® at Children's Medical Research Institute and a Cancer Institute NSW Early Career Fellow, and an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Sydney.
Simon read Computer Science at Monash University, graduating top of his cohort, and completed his PhD in Cancer Data Science at the University of Sydney and CMRI.
His research builds the bridge between cutting-edge machine learning and cancer research, developing federated, generative, and transformer-based deep-learning methods for cancer multi-omics. As co-first author of a pan-cancer proteomic map of 949 human cancer cell lines, Simon designs new tools to improve cancer diagnosis and prognosis through precision oncology.
