Dr. Md Musfizur Hassan is a staff scientist and scientific lead in the peptide synthesis facility at Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI). 

Dr. Hassan obtained his PhD in 2018 from the School of Chemistry, University of New South Wales under the supervision of Professor Pall Thordarson. His PhD was in the design and synthesis of peptide-based biomaterial, characterisation, and application in drug delivery and cell culture scaffolds. 

After PhD, he worked as a Researcher at the University of New South Wales for Noxopharm Ltd with Professor Naresh Kumar. Then he started research as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of New South Wales with the head of the school Professor Guangzhao Mao. Before PhD, he completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy and Ms in Pharmaceutical Science from Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. 

He worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 5 years and has diverse experiences in both industry and academia. His expertise includes pharmaceutical formulation, analytical method development in HPLC/LCMS, nanoparticles-based drug delivery, cell culture and imaging, peptide design and synthesis, quality control, and drug conjugation. 

Dr. Hassan is a peptide chemist and much passionate about protein chemistry and bioconjugate techniques.
