Grady completed a BMedBiotech degree graduating with Honours at the University of Wollongong in 2017 where his project involved characterising human stem cell-derived microglial-like cells. He then expanded his technique repertoire by working as a research assistant in an epigenetics laboratory before joining the Stem Cell Medicine group in October 2019. Currently, his work involves differentiating human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to retinal organoids for the study of degenerative diseases which affect the eye. By differentiating iPSCs to various lineages, Grady also aims to increase the complexity of modelling human disease and treatments in vitro. In his spare time, he enjoys brewing mediocre beer at home.
